A
call to Aids rethinkers
Are you
Prepared
to counterpunch?

It doesnt take a genuis to see that
the
political pressure is intensifying in the South African
Aids issue. Mandelas' reported rebuking of Thabo Mbeki may be a savvy political
ringfencing of the ANC. If Mbeki is determined to take the heat then he may
as well take some heat off the ANC too. But mostly Mbeki needs the time for
the Aids Panel to produce concrete results- his opponents want to scupper
the whole process now.
Attacks on Mbeki from newspapers
have intensified. Meanwhile, ACT-UP San francisco find themselves on the recieving
end of a mooted boycott. The Aids industry has realized that every day the
controversy continues induces the open-minded to examine the issue for themselves.
They are making a determined last ditch attempt to put the genie back in the
bottle.
So now is the time for dissidents to counterpunch. Sitting
still is not an option. The outcome of all this will be largely determined
over the next three months. A Internet team is being formed to collaborate
with leading dissidents, to engage in strategic interventions and campaigns-
over the Internet, and pursue special internet-based projects.
Rather than discuss this further publicly, plans will be co-orodinated
by means of a private forum. If you want to spend your online time more
productively for the dissident cause; if you want to join us to lend your
practical support then please email to mail@aidsmyth.com with "Counterpunch"
in the subject title for details.
